Mental Health Week 2024 Event – The Wedge Workshop

The Wedge Workshop presented by Bill Dungey, a volunteer Firefighter and Registered Social Service Worker, is a FREE event hosted by PrimaCare FHT for Mental Health Week 2024.
We welcome Bill as he gives us an in-depth look at developing personal doctrine. Suitable for ages 15+, participants will recognize the critical importance of the relationship between endurance and the actionable skills of leadership. The ability to push through obstacles and to build endurance – which is a process and a skill, will be the premise of this workshop. Bill is also the founder of SIXFEET (https://sixfeet.ca/), a federally registered not for profit organization that aims to blend martial arts training with access to formal mental health supports for first responders.
We will also be welcoming Carling Mitchell, owner of Skilful Start (https://skillfulstart.ca/), where she will be available to answer questions about resources and tools that can be used to build skilled and resilient youth. Carling is Child and Youth Counselor with over 10 years experience in acute mental health. From the very beginning of her career she has been captivated by the young people of our community who are struggling profoundly and yet possess a hope that is inspiring. It is not often an absence of desire or drive for something different, but a lack of accessible, effective materials, support or consistency that perpetuate their struggle. Carling’s Skilful Coping Kits will be available to win through our event’s raffle draw!
